SIP Conecting between Skype for business 2015 and Voptech 8FXO

The environment we tested was that the Voptech gateway was on the same LAN as Skype for business 2015. The function realized by Skype for business 2015 was to make external calls and outgoing calls through the Voptech gateway. The Voptech Gateway supports TCP and UDP protocols by default.

Next step:

Skype for business 2015 settings

一、Create a new PSTN gateway in the Skype for business 2015 topology

1、Create a new PSTN gateway

2、FQDN is the internal IP address of 3CX

3、Define an IP address.

4、SIP transport protocol selects TCP; listening port is changed to: 5060

5、PSTN gateway added is complete

6、Publishing topology

7、Topology released successfully

二、Set up voice routing on the Skype for business 2015 control panel

1、Add Skype for business 2015 extension (6xxx) and pre-dialed outside line number: 1xxxxxxxxxx (local mobile number) to the dial plan.

2、Set up a voice policy. Scope: global, PSTN usage: local

3、Set up routing. The matching mode is set to: (.*)

4、Add a SIP Trunk to be associated

5、PSTN usage

6、Trunk configuration. Set delete “+” in the called number conversion rule

The setup of Skype for business 2015 is complete. Next is the Voptech gateway settings.

Voptech 8FXO settings

1、Confirm that the Voptech gateway SIP transport protocol type is: TCP. The default is UDP. After the modification, the gateway needs to be restarted to take effect.

2、Trunk configuration – set “Trunk function”, select “Binding” for access mode, enter the number to be bound, here we bind 1 SFB extension number and do the incoming call test.

3、Setting up the routing table

IP X ROUTE FXO 1

This means that when the gateway receives any call from any IP, the call will be sent out from FXO

FXO X ROUTE 10.112.3.51:5060/TCP

This means that calls coming in from any FXO port are sent to the IP: 10.112.3.51 server.

After the routing table is set, the settings on the voice gateway are basically completed.

Note:

The software version of the Voptech Gateway I am currently using is Rev 1..9.5.367.1 and the hardware version is Rev 7.0.0. This version has 2 bugs in using the TCP protocol.

1、When using the TCP protocol, outgoing calls cannot be made. After the technical support check, you need to add TCP 5060 port. Add parameters: https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xml?method=gw.config.set&id114=5060, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx refers to the IP address of the voice gateway.

2、When the TCP protocol is used, the routing table is unstable. Modifying certain parameters of the voice gateway will result in the loss of the routing table settings. This needs to be resolved later by upgrading the firmware.
