Fanvil Phone CLIP Mode Description

Overview

Calling Line Identification Presetation (CLIP), also known as Caller ID, it can be used by Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The number and name of caller are sent to the called party during ringing. Caller ID selection mode supports obtaining the number and name of caller from the SIP header field and displaying the number and name of caller on the screen. This document describes some of the enhancements to the phone’s Calling Line Identification Presetation (CLIP) selection mode.

This document is for Fanvil X3S, X4, X5S, X6 and other models.

Calling Line Identification Presetation selection mode configuration

The phone supports deriving the caller number and name from the FROM field in the INVITE request, the P-Asserted-Identity field, and the Remote-Party-ID field. The Calling Line Identification Presetation (CLIP) selection mode of the phone can be configured by the user through the web user interface. Calling Line Identification Presetation (CLIP) selection mode can be configured for each line. Go to Line-SIP-Advanced Settings-Caller ID Header.

The phone supports the Calling Line Identification Presetation selection mode through the FROM field, the P-Asserted-Identity field, and the Remote-Party-ID field in the SIP header field. The following sessions configure the Calling Line Identification Presetation selection mode based on the Caller ID header field on the phone.

 

FROM

The phone will display the calling line number and name derived from the FROM field. If this number is a contact, the name of the contact is displayed.

 

PAI-FROM

The phone will check and display the number and name of the caller from the P-Asserted-Identity field.

If there is no P-Asserted-Identity field in the INVITE request, the phone will display the number and name of caller derived from the FROM field.

If this number is a contact, the name of the contact is displayed.

 

RPID-FROM

The phone will check and display the number and name of caller from the Remote-Party-ID field.

If there is no Remote-Party-ID field in the INVITE request, the phone displays the number and name of caller derived from the FROM field.

If this number is a contact, the name of the contact is displayed.

 

PAI-RPID-FROM

The phone will check and display the number and name of caller from the P-Asserted-Identity field.

If there is no P-Asserted-Identity field in the INVITE request, the phone will check and display the number and name of caller from the Remote-Party-ID field.

If there is no Remote-Party-ID field in the INVITE request, the phone displays the number and name of caller derived from the FROM field.

If this number is a contact, the name of the contact is displayed.

 

RPID-PAI-FROM

The phone will check and display the number and name of caller from the Remote-Party-ID field.

If there is no Remote-Party-ID field in the INVITE request, the phone will check and display the number and name of caller from the P-Asserted-Identity field.

If there is no P-Asserted-Identity field in the INVITE request, the phone will display the number and name of caller derived from the FROM field.

If this number is a contact, the name of the contact is displayed.
